Castlevania: Symphony of the Night was released on the 26th of October 1997 for the Sony PlayStation. It was the sequel to the 1993 game Castlevania IV. The game was directed by the now legendary Koji Igarashi and was produced by the now legendary producer, Akari Kaida. Together they this team created a masterpiece that has since been considered, by many, one of the best games of all time.
Graphics
The graphics are, like the original Castlevania games, classic 2D. They are a bit darker and more detailed than the graphics in the original Castlevania games, but it is not as detailed as in the modern 3D games that came later.
Gameplay
The gameplay is very straightforward. You play as the protagonist of the game, Richter Belmont. You have to go through a castle to defeat the evil Count Dracula. You can find items that will help you on your quest by exploring the castle. You can also find other things though, like armor and weapons, that will make you stronger and improve your chances of defeating Dracula.
Multiplayer
The multiplayer is just like the single-player mode. It is just a competitive mode.
Replayability
The game is very replayable due to the large number of items you can find and the many different ways you can play. You can explore the castle in detail and find different items. You can also play the game in different difficulty levels and this changes how hard the game is.
Conclusion
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is a game that I highly recommend to anyone who likes classic 2D games. It is a very fun game that offers hours of replayability.
